Covid-19: More than 700,000 people died worldwide, adding 1,300 deaths in the United States

The coronavirus continues to cause a fatal disaster. As of April 5, 2020, the number of deaths worldwide has exceeded 700,000. Many countries are at risk of facing the second and third wave of the Covid-19 epidemic, while the coronavirus is still raging in the Americas.

Based on data from the last two weeks reported by Reuters, an average of 5,900 people die from Covid-19 every day, equivalent to 247 deaths every hour or every 15 seconds with coronavirus.

The number of deaths has suddenly increased in the United States, adding more than 1,300 over the 24 hours, according to August 4 data, bringing the total death toll to more than 156,000. The number of new infections also increased sharply, adding 53,847 cases within a day (total of 4.77 million cases), according to data from the University of Baltimore.

Explaining the number of new cases is constantly increasing, President Trump still attributed it to the daily press conference on August 4 because the number of tests performed: “The United States alone tests people in a week. more than all the major countries combined ”.

The coronavirus has spread widely in many states in the southern and western United States since late June. Meanwhile, many South American countries and the Caribbean have struggled or become nearly helpless against Covid-19 due to poverty and high population densities in many regions.

Brazil, the second most affected country, had 1,154 deaths and 51,603 new infections within 24 hours, according to Health Ministry data. The total number of deaths in Brazil is about to exceed 100,000 with more than 2.8 million confirmed infections.
